Leadership Development Institute
Signature EventsEach fall, early in the academic year, the 21st Century Education Foundation sponsors an event at which the Superintendent of Schools provides Anne Arundel County business leaders with a “State of the School System” update. Through this special one-on-one event, business leaders have the opportunity to interact with the Superintendent on matters pertaining to the education of Anne Arundel County public school students.
The 21st Century Education provides support to all public and private middle schools by sponsoring the Anne Arundel County Spelling Bee. The Spelling Bee Champion wins an all-expense paid trip to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in the Washington, D.C. area.
The 21st Century Education sponsors an annual spring Career Expo which, where local businesses and government agencies bring today’s students face-to-face with selected in-demand careers. In 2012 The Bright Minds Foundation (Howard County) will be partnering with the 21st Century Education Foundation for the 5th Annual Career Expo.
The Signature Program sponsored by the 21st Century Education Foundation, the Leadership Development Institute creates, among those participating in the Institute, integrated, collaborative learning with a focus on major components of the Anne Arundel County Public School System and the Anne Arundel County Community and government. Participants are from a cross section of current and aspiring leaders within the school system and the business community.
