This year, AACPS, in partnership with the 21st Century Education Foundation, will be joining the National Give Local movement by participating in the 2015 Great Give . This event, hosted by the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County (CFAAC), is a 24-hour virtual fundraiser to raise awareness and money for local non-profit organizations in Anne Arundel County.

We are now accepting applications for the 2015-2015 Leadership Development Institutes! Each year, the 21st Century Education Foundation and Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) offers AACPS employees the unique opportunity to participate in the Leadership Development Institute (LDI). This year-long professional development program engages participants in monthly sessions to cultivate collaborative leaders and enhance partnerships between the school system and business sector.

On February 28, St. Mary’s Elementary School eighth-grader William Rogers came in first place in the 27th annual Anne Arundel County Spelling Bee to earn a trip to the national competition later this year.
The bee is a partnership of Anne Arundel County Public Schools and the 21st Century Education Foundation. This year’s event sponsor was the Josephine B. Scheffenacker Education Trust, and the champion sponsors were Educational Systems Federal Credit Union and Capital Gazette Communications.
