Support Children & Youth Experiencing Homelessness

Help Be a Part of the Solution: Donate Today

Within the Anne Arundel County Public school system, there are nearly 1,000 students who experience homelessness every year. Every child’s needs are unique and it is not always possible to meet these needs through school system funds. Your donation could provide a student with clothing, toiletries, graduation costs, field trip fees or help provide transportation so a parent can attend a conference at school.

How have past donations been used?

Shoes and summer clothing were purchased for a family of five experiencing homelessness. When Justin, age 6, and Gracie, age 5, received their new school sneakers and clothing, they immediately put on the new clothing and shoes and modeled them for family members as well as the PPW delivering the items. The family was grateful for the items as they will be welcoming a new baby and appreciated having this financial burden lifted.

The 21st Century Funds have been used to provide our students experiencing homelessness with childhood opportunities. One particular student, Natalie, age 9, was able to attend summer camp at the North Aquatics Swim Center. In speaking with her caregiver she shared that Natalie had never experienced summer camp and absolutely loved her time at the center. The camp afforded her the opportunity to spend a week with peers engaging in water activities and learning valuable water safety skills.
