Out of an abundance of caution, Anne Arundel County Public Schools is cancelling all large scale public events, including the upcoming Excellence in Education Awards Dinner.

We’re in the process of making alternative plans, which include refunding guests who have purchased tickets.

At this time, we ask for your patience. We expect to have more information to share with you next week.

The BWI Airport Marriott hotel is located at 1743 West Nursery Road, Linthicum, Maryland 21090.

Business attire, though many of our Teacher of the Year honorees may choose to be a bit more dressy.

There is free parking at the BWI Airport Marriott. Parking is also available at the Hoyt’s Cinema parking lot (1591 West Nursery Road, Linthicum – park close to Wendy’s), and a complimentary shuttle will run continuously between 5:45 – 6:30 pm.  At the conclusion of the event, the shuttle will return you to your vehicle.

Just a reminder that this event is hosted by the 21st Century Education Foundation, and that alcohol will be served at cash/credit bars. You are welcome to relax in one of the hotel lounge areas before registration begins at 5:45 pm.  We also invite you to use the bar that will be set-up outside of the dining room, which accepts cash & credit/debit cards.

While you wait, please feel free to pose for photographs on the “red carpet” and to enjoy some of the student artwork on display.

All pre-registered guests will be given a seating card with their table number at the registration table. There are no paper tickets for this event and tickets are not for sale at the door.

  • Our doors will open at 6:15 pm and we encourage you to quickly find your table and take your seat.  The program is scheduled to begin shortly after 6:30 pm.
  • During this year’s program, we will be hearing from some of our speakers and as well as watching videos of our Teacher of the Year honorees at different times throughout the evening.  When the videos air or someone is speaking from the podium, please refrain from talking at your tables so that all guests can hear about the amazing work being done in our schools by the teachers and business partners being honored. You will not want to miss a word!
  • Photographs will be taken by our AACPS photographers. We will provide you with access to those photos following the event.
  • Please do not remove any of the Teacher of the Year signs/posters from the hotel. Thank you for your understanding.
